Fallout: New Vegas Review
Posted by Patrick Lambert Categories: Action, PlayStation 3, Reviews, Role Playing Games, Xbox 360,
As the first game of the season I was eagerly awaiting, I got Fallout: New Vegas as soon as it came out and played it religiously for 27 hours. In that time I estimate that I probably finished around 60% of the side quests before finishing the main story. It gave me an overview of the wasteland in and around the strip, and most of the quests available to carry the story along. The game is available for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. So, is it worth your time? We give you our thoughts in our full review.

Xbox 360 Kinect Edition appears on store shelves early
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Microsoft, Xbox 360,
Okay, so Kinect is the next big thing from the Xbox team over at Microsoft, and the launch is scheduled for November 4th here in the USA. You'd think that'd mean that you'd be unable to get your hands on one until then, but thanks to some slip-ups at select retail locations, you may very well be able to get ahold of Kinect starting today. As you see above, one store has mistakingly put out the 250GB Xbox 360 Kinect Special Edition on the sales floor. Now, we're not saying that it's time for you to start calling around or anything, but if you happen to be hearing to a WalMart or Target type of place, you may wanna give the video game section a glance.

Netflix on Wii no longer requires a disc
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Internet, Nintendo, Wii,
While it's not the awesome upgrade that PS3 Netflix received, Wii owners can now stream movies directly to the console without having to get our of their chairs and find that red disc. Just head into the Wii Shop channel and download the free Netflix channel, put in your account credentials, and you'll be ready to roll. It still isn't HD by any means, but hey, it's discless.

Redbox testing out video game rentals
Posted by John Kilhefner Categories: Corporate News, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360,
While they originally started testing out a video game rental service in August of 2009 at select Redbox kiosks, the DVD rental giant is seeking to take their video game options nationwide this week. Added markets include those in the West, Midwest, and Atlantic Coast. A look at Redbox's website shows a large offering of video games on the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, PS2 and Nintendo DS. One rental will cost $2 per day. This may seem like a bit much, considering I remember a time when I could rent a game for a week from Blockbuster for just five dollars. Perhaps a set weekly rate would help their cause much more. Would you rent video games from Redbox for $2 per day? Or would you prefer they have a set weekly rate instead?

Call of Duty: Black Ops in Stereoscopic 3D
Posted by John Kilhefner Categories: Activision, First Person Shooters, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360,
Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC gamers will be able to get a touch of the three dimensional come November 9. Deciding to try something a bit new, and trendy, the Call of Duty series is going 3D, “day one, out of the box”, according to Mark Lamia, the head of the Treyarch Studio. All you need to make this work is one of those ridiculously expensive 3D HDTVs or an NVIDIA 3D Vision-ready PC, along with those ridiculously cheesy active shutter glasses. The stereoscopic 3D will work in all of Black Ops’ modes, including multiplayer. How this will work out in accordance with the subtleties of the game that require precision and concentration is unknown as this point. Though, one can’t help but wonder if 3D visuals are just a gimmick, not fit for competitive play. If so, there’s going to be a whole lot of noobs that are getting pwned, all for them to play in glorious 3D.

Mega Man Legends 3, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Nintendo 3DS

During the Nintendo Conference 2010 in Japan just yesterday, Nintendo revealed a glimmer of hope for fans of the Mega Man Legends series. That is, Mega Man Legends 3 Project has been officially announced in development for the Nintendo 3DS platform. “We have wanted to create a new installment in this series for a number of years,” said the title’s Executive Producer, Keiji Inafune. “It is great that we now have the opportunity to bring this title to the Nintendo 3DS.”
Resident Evil fans will be delighted to know that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will also be a 3DS title, and will feature missions from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Those familiar with the mercenary modes from these games know that it is a race against the clock to kill as many enemies as you can while racking up points. The Mercenaries 3D will add some new modes and characters from throughout the series into the mix as well. Aside from being a completely 3D experience, the 3DS’s WiFi connectivity will allow for online co-op play around the globe.
